Guidelines
- All abstracts must be submitted electronically in pdf format and uploaded using the on-line form.
- Submitters may elect to submit for oral presentation, poster presentation or either.
(Only a relatively few abstracts will be chosen for oral presentation.)
- Emails identifying acceptance and format will be sent March 16, 2009.
- The size of the body of your abstract (exclusive of title and authors) must be 3.5” in width and 3.5” in length, or less
- Abstract font style: Times New Roman
- Abstract font size: 9 point
- Abstract title: upper and lower case
Notes
- Abstracts may be edited up until the submission deadline on February 16, 2009.
- Abstract receipt will be acknowledged by email.
- Multiple submissions are accepted.
Young Investigator’s Poster Competition
- This competition is open to graduate or post doctoral associates within 3 years of having been granted a doctoral degree.
- If you would like your abstract considered for Young Investigator Poster Competition, select appropriate box on registration form.
- To enter the competition, select the ‘poster’ radio button on the submission form.
- The Program Committee will review the Young Investigator’s poster abstracts and will select several submissions to be given as oral presentations.
- All accepted Young Investigators Posters will be scheduled for Poster Session I - available for viewing and for judging on Monday, June 8th and Tuesday, June 9th. More details on the logistics of the Young Investigators Poster Competition will be sent with acceptance notices.
- Poster Competition winners will be announced at the Thursday afternoon lecture session.
Selection and Notification
- The Program Committee will select speakers for the oral presentations from the submitted abstracts.
- All communication, including notification of acceptance, will be emailed to the person identified on the submission form as the primary contact.
- Acceptance of an abstract is contingent on registration for the Symposium.
Program/Abstract Book
- The Symposium program and accepted abstracts will be published in a special issue of Biopolymers Peptide Science.
- Persons submitting abstracts after the March 16th late submission deadline may be invited to present, but their abstracts will not appear in the program
Proceedings Submitters of accepted abstracts are invited to expand their abstract into a full manuscript to be submitted before the conclusion of the Symposium on Friday, June 12th. From the submitted manuscripts, the Program Committee will identify those manuscripts to be published in a book of symposium proceedings. Although only a select number of manuscripts will appear in the proceedings, all submitted manuscripts will be included on a disc (DVD or CD) and distributed with the proceedings. Manuscript guidelines will be posted to the Symposium web site.
